Abstract

Abstrak: Pada tahun 2022 Malaysia melangkah ke fasa endemik setelah hampir dua tahun masyarakat berdepan dengan pelbagai implikasi akibat pandemik Covid-19. Peralihan fasa menjadi permulaan baharu buat Keluarga Malaysia khususnya golongan pelajar yang berhadapan dengan cabaran besar perlu mengadaptasi norma baharu terutama dalam kalangan berpendapatan sederhana dan rendah. Peralihan drastik ini telah menyumbang kepada perubahan kesejahteraan psikologi dan pencapaian akademik melibatkan sebilangan pelajar di negara ini. Bagi memastikan kejayaan institusi ini, kedua-dua belah pihak iaitu ibu dan bapa seharusnya memainkan peranan yang sama penting terutama melibatkan perkembangan dalaman dan luaran pelajar. Justeru, kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti peranan institusi keluarga terhadap perkembangan pencapaian akademik dan kesejahteraan psikologi setelah berakhirnya pandemik Covid-19. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif melalui kaedah kajian perpustakaan yang melibatkan analisis kandungan melibatkan proses mengumpul dan menyatukan data dari sumber sekunder seperti jurnal, majalah, surat khabar, buletin dan pautan lama web. Kaedah ini memfokuskan kepada pemahaman terhadap peranan dan fungsi institusi keluarga, pencapaian akademik dan kesejahteraan psikologi dalam kalangan pelajar. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bagaimana peranan institusi keluarga berperanan mempengaruhi pembentukan pencapaian akademik pelajar dan kesejahteraan psikologi. Tuntasnya, kajian ini akan menjadi satu platform dan sumber rujukan baru khususnya dalam usaha mengenalpasti peranan institusi keluarga. Ia memfokuskan kepada peranan ibu bapa terhadap perkembangan dan masa depan pelajar melibatkan aspek pendidikan dan psikologi. Tambahan lagi, pelajar merupakan perintis masa depan negara di masa akan datang. Ia sejajar dengan dengan matlamat Deklarasi Keluarga yang menjadi sebahagian agenda nasional supaya semua pihak meletakkan kepentingan keluarga sebagai keutamaan dalam segala perancangan dan tindakan. Kegagalan ibu bapa sebagai komponen penting dalam institusi keluarga akan memberi impak kepada hala tuju pelajar malahan Islam memandang keluarga sebagai sebuah institusi pencorak masyarakat yang bakal dibina di masa akan datang.

 

Abstract: Malaysia is stepping into the endemic phase of Covid-19 in 2022 after almost two years of dealing with a variety of its implications. The transition phase has become a new beginning for Keluarga Malaysia, especially among the students from middle- and low-income group who were facing great challenges in dealing with the new norms due to the outbreak. This drastic transition has contributed to the changes in psychological well-being and academic achievement involving a number of students across the nation. The success of a family institution relies on the equally important roles of the parents specifically in the supporting the internal and external development of the students. Therefore, this study aims to identify the roles of family institution on the academic achievement and psychological well-being of the students after the end of the pandemic phase of Covid-19. This study employs qualitative method through literary analysis involving the process of collecting and unifying data from secondary sources such as journals, magazines, newspaper, bulletin, and web links. This method focuses on understanding the roles and functions of family institution, academic achievement, and psychology well-being among students. The findings of this study hence display on how the roles of family institution influences the academic achievement and psychological well-being of the students. The findings of this study may perhaps provide a platform and reference of other studies especially in identifying the roles of family institution. It focuses on the roles of the parents in the development and the future of the students in terms of educational and psychological processes and progress. The students are indeed the future of the nation. It is parallel with the goals of Family Declaration as a part of the national agenda which puts importance of family as a priority in all planning and actions. The failure of the parents in being the main component in a family institution may impact the direction of the students, and even the teaching if Islam views family as an institution that shapes the society in the future.
